With only 200 days left, preparations for the 2023 World Veteran Championships are accelerating. A delegation from the organising committee is visiting the European Veterans Table Tennis Championships in Rimini, Italy, getting a “behind the scenes” look at the day-to-day operational demands of hosting a world-class event.

They are also welcoming the future competitors, as highlighted by Sajad Baqir, Vice President of Oman Table Tennis Association; “A lot of people are showing interest and registering to the 2023 World Veteran Championships. They will be our guests from the moment their plane lands. The government fully supports the event and will facilitate immigration and visa processes. We are looking forward to hosting guests from all over the world, and I promise them many amazing surprises in Oman!”

Hundreds of players from more than 30 countries have already registered to be part of the 2023 World Veteran Championships. Several age categories and 44 World Titles on offer, this is an event for anyone and everyone who continues to show their passion for the sport.

Register now on the official website and benefit from the early-bird discount until 2 July 2022.

ITTF President Petra Sörling, also in Rimini competing in the European Veterans Table Tennis Championships, encouraged the Omani delegation: “The 2023 World Veteran Championships is the first entirely managed by the ITTF. I would like to congratulate the Swaythling Club International for all their hard work and for bringing the event up to this point. Now, the ITTF aims to take it to the next level, further improving the sport presentation and the players’ experience. This starts next year in Muscat, Oman. We will deliver a fantastic event for our cherished veteran community, demonstrating once again that table tennis is a sport for all and for life.”

The World Veteran Table Tennis Championships 2023 will take place on 15-21 January in the Sultanate of Oman, a country of breath-taking natural beauty. Muscat has a wide array of hotel options, all of which can be easily booked on the official website of the World Veteran Championships
