Norwegian in form in German capital while Kyle Langford achieves world 800m qualifier in Italy

One of the oldest one day meetings in the world was held for the 82nd time.

World record-holder Karsten Warholm was just 0.12 outside his season’s best with a time of 47.24 as he won the 400m hurdles by more than a second from Ludvy Vaillant (48.26 PB) and Joshua Abuaku (48.55 PB).

Another world record-holder in form was Tobi Amusan who clocked a winning 12.45 (-0.3) to win the 100m hurdles to beat Tia Jones (12.58).

Valerie Allman threw 70.06m in the last round of the discus to easily defeat Kristen Pudenz who was second with 65.20m.

Another winning world champion was Malaika Mihambo whose first-round 6.92m defeated Ese Brume (6.79m) and Jasmin Sawyers (6.69m).

Grant Holloway edged a close 110m hurdles with 13.05 (0.6), just two hundredths of a second ahead of Freddie Crittenden with Daniel Roberts third on 13.25.

Noah Lyles beat Ferdinand Omanyala in the 100m with a season’s best 9.95 to 10.11 while Daryll Neita won her race in 11.00 (-0.1).

Menno Vloon set a Dutch record of 5.88m to defeat Ernest Obiena (5.81m) in the pole vault.

European champion Julian Weber again delighted the home crowd with a javelin win with a 84.90m throw.

The World under-20 champion Kenyan Raynold Cheruiyot’s 3:35.04 1500m defeated Briton George Mills (PB 3:35.30).

The 400m saw a Borlee 1-2-3 with Dylan’s 45.96 coming out on top.
