Dang Qiu became the fourth German player to win the men’s singles title at a European Championships when he succeeded earlier this year in Munich’s Rudi-Sedlmayer-Halle

He succeeds Jörg Rosskopf, Timo Boll and Dimitrij Ovtcharov but in a somewhat different manner. In fact, he the first, he is first pen-hold grip player to win a medal of any colour in the history of the men’s singles event at the European Championships.
