Toss Ireland chose to bowl vs Pakistan

Ireland captain Laura Delany won the toss for the second time in two games but opted to bowl first on this occasion, against Pakistan at Newlands. The match is being played on the same pitch West Indies and India played on earlier in the day.

Despite going down to England in their tournament opener, Ireland fielded an unchanged XI. They had the upper hand going into this match, having beaten Pakistan in two of their last three head-to-head games.

Pakistan, on the other hand, brought in legspinner Tuba Hassan for batter Sidra Ameen. In their opening-match loss against India, they were hampered by having just five bowlers at their disposal.

Both teams are yet to open their account in the tournament.

Ireland: 1 Amy Hunter, 2 Gaby Lewis, 3 Orla Prendergast, 4 Laura Delany (capt), 5 Eimear Richardson, 6 Louise Little, 7 Mary Waldron (wk), 8 Leah Paul, 9 Arlene Kelly, 10 Cara Murray, 11 Jane Maguire

Pakistan: 1 Muneeba Ali (wk), 2 Javeria Khan, 3 Bismah Maroof (capt), 4 Nida Dar, 5 Ayesha Naseem, 6 Aliya Riaz, 7 Fatima Sana, 8 Aiman Anwer, 9 Tuba Hassan 10 Nashra Sandhu, 11 Sadia Iqbal
