Harmanpreet and Healy fit to play; Australia opt to bat

Toss Australia chose to bat vs India

Harmanpreet Kaur was cleared to lead India after being admitted to hospital yesterday with a fever but lost the toss on a warm and slightly breezy afternoon at Newlands. Instead, India's bowlers will get first use of a fresh pitch that should offer a little more pace and bounce than the surfaces we have seen in the tournament so far.
India made three changes to the team that beat Ireland, one enforced by illness. Pooja Vastrakar is out of the tournament with an upper respiratory tract infection and her replacement, Sneh Rana was immediately inserted into the XI. India also left Rajeshwari Gayakwad, who has taken no wickets in the tournament so far, and allrounder Devika Vaidya, and replaced them with Yastika Bhatia, who has not played since she opened against Pakistan, and Radha Yadav.
Australia also adjusted their spin department and left out legspinner Alana King, who has also gone without success from the four matches she has played. Jess Jonassen takes King's place. In the batting line-up, they welcome back Alyssa Healy, who missed the South Africa match with a quad injury. Annabel Sutherland went back to the bench.

This semi-final is a rematch of the 2020 T20 World Cup final which Australia by 85 runs. Despite the high-profile nature of the clash, Newlands was fairly empty at the toss, with crowds expected to build as the afternoon goes on but many saving themselves for tomorrow's second semi-final between hosts South Africa and England.

India: 1 Shafali Verma, 2 Smriti Mandhana, 3 Jemimah Rodrigues, 4 Harmanpreet Kaur (capt), 5 Richa Ghosh (wk), 6 Yastika Bhatia, 7 Deepti Sharma, 8 Sneh Rana 9 Shikha Pandey, 10 Radha Yadav, 11 Renuka Singh

Australia: 1 Alyssa Healy (wk), 2 Beth Mooney, 3 Meg Lanning (capt), 4 Ashleigh Gardner, 5 Ellyse Perry 6 Tahlia McGrath, 7 Grace Harris, 8 Georgia Wareham, 9 Jess Jonassen, 10 Megan Schutt, 11 Darcie Brown
