The 36-year-old retired from professional soccer after Toronto FC's final game of MLS' regular season last Saturday.

"We welcome Michael, and really everyone named Bradley, to Nadderud!" Stabaek said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday.

"We are looking forward to getting to know Bob's son better, who will join his father and contribute to the coaching staff for the rest of the season."

Bradley Jr. was previously coached by his father at the USMNT between 2006 and 2011 and when he was manager of Toronto from 2021 to 2023.

Bradley Sr. began his second spell as Stabaek head coach in September after previously managing the team during the 2014-15 season in what was his first time in charge of a European club.

He has since managed the likes of French side Le Havre and became the first coach from the U.S. to manage a Premier League club during his brief spell at Swansea City in 2016 in which he was sacked after only 11 matches in charge.

Bradley Jr. is one of the most decorated players in USMNT history. After making his debut in 2006, he won 151 caps, putting him third all-time among U.S. men. He was a part of USMNT rosters at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups as well as winning two Concacaf Gold Cups in 2007 and 2017.

The 36-year old established himself as a player in Europe first at Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga before making a short loan move to Premier League side Aston Villa. He then spent time in Italy, first with Chievo Verona and then Roma.

Bradley Jr.'s highlight with Toronto came in 2017, when he led the club to a historic treble of the MLS Cup, Supporters' Shield and Canadian Championship.
