World 40-mile track-holder Ollie Garrod and Jess Saunders head 5km in Hyde Park on a relatively quiet weekends of racing in the UK on road, fell and track

SERPENTINE LAST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH 5km, London Hyde Park, November 24

Ollie Garrod, the world best 40-mile track-holder, showed good speed to win in 15:07 ahead of Fulhams Tom Mackay, who set a PB of 15:12.

The following day he made the top 10 in the South of Thames 5 mile championships having been first finisher at the Nonsuch parkrun earlier in the morning in 16:48.

The Nonsuch event was his 391st parkrun first place finish, which now gives him a 43 lead on James Baker on the all-time lists. he has run 469 parkruns in total.

The womens winner Jess Saunders also ran and won a parkrun the following day (the much further afield Goole) but here set a PB of 17:29 ahead of another Belgrave Harrier Naomi Lenane.

Saunders had run a 2:43:14 marathon PB at Berlin in September.
