Carys Phillips: Wales hooker joins Harlequins after Worcester collapse
Written by I Dig SportsWales hooker Carys Phillips has joined Harlequins Women following the recent demise of Worcester Warriors Women.
Phillips said she was "excited for the opportunity that Quins have given me after the sad situation at Worcester".
"I'm really looking forward to getting started with the team and playing my rugby in London," she added.
Phillips was one of Wales' first professionally contracted players and is one of the most capped in Wales' current squad. She has made 70 appearances to date since her debut in the 2013 Six Nations.
She most recently played in Wales' WXV1 campaign in New Zealand and links up with team-mate Abbie Fleming, who joined the Quins before the new Premiership Women's Rugby season.
Harlequins forwards coach Steve Halsey has previously worked with Phillips and is delighted to be reunited.
"We're really pleased to sign a player of Carys' quality and experience," he said. "She'll be an excellent addition to the squad."
