Sources: Raps deal Schroder for Nets' Dinwiddie

The Toronto Raptors are trading guard Dennis Schroder to the Brooklyn Nets for guard Spencer Dinwiddie, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Thursday.

Schroder, 30, is averaging 13.7 points and 6.1 assists for the Raptors this season.

Dinwiddie, who is averaging 12.6 points and 6.0 assists this season, began his second stint in Brooklyn one year ago after he was included in the trade that sent Kyrie Irving to Dallas. His play to close that season - along with the acquisition of Mikal Bridges - helped end a tumultuous year for Brooklyn on a high note.

Dinwiddie and the Nets struggled to repeat that success this year, however, with Brooklyn on the bubble for the 10 seed in the East and Dinwiddie averaging near career low numbers as a starter.

A 6-foot-5 guard, Dinwiddie is a capable playmaker and scorer, but he's been inconsistent as a 3-point shooter over the course of his career and is down to less than 33% on nearly 6 attempts per game this season.

This season he's been among the least efficient scorers in the league, ranking only behind rookies Scoot Henderson and Keyonte George in field goal percentage among players with at least 400 attempts, per ESPN Stats & Information research. His playmaking has bumped up though, posting a career-best 4.5 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Dinwiddie, who will turn 31 this spring, is in the final year of his deal. He will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.
