Wrexham to play Chelsea in U.S. friendly

This is the second successive summer the two sides will face each other -- their first meeting came in front of a sellout crowd in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where the Premier League side romped to a 5-0 win.

The match against Chelsea, which will be played at Levi's Stadium, is one of three that Wrexham will play in their preseason tour in the United States. The club are yet to announce their opponents for the other games.
Chelsea, who will be returning to the U.S. for their third successive preseason tour, announced that they will also face Mexican giants Club América this summer at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on July 31.
Chelsea have endured a challenging first season under manager Mauricio Pochettino and are 11th in the Premier League. Last month, they lost the Carabao Cup final in extra-time to Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Wrexham, who are co-owned by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, are pushing for their second promotion in as many years this season and lie third in the League Two table, three points behind leaders Mansfield Town.
