Saracens sign fly-half Johnson from Newcastle
Written by I Dig SportsSaracens have signed Newcastle Falcons fly-half Louie Johnson on a "long-term" deal.
The 20-year-old has made 16 appearances for the Premiership side since his debut in March 2022, scoring one try.
Saracens captain and long-term number 10 Owen Farrell will join French outfit Racing 92 at the end of the season.
The reigning champions have already signed English-qualified 24-year-old fly-half Fergus Burke from New Zealand side Crusaders.
"I'm incredibly excited and grateful to be joining such a prestigious club," Johnson told the Saracens website.
"Saracens is full of world class players and coaches and I can't wait to learn from them."
Johnson has played 13 times for England's under-20 national team.
He has made five appearances for Newcastle in their floundering Premiership season, with the north east club winless and rock bottom of the table, but was not involved in his side's 19-13 defeat by Leicester Tigers on Friday.
Saracens did not specify the length of the contract.
