O's acquire reliever Ramirez in trade with Mets
Written by I Dig SportsThe Baltimore Orioles acquired right-handed reliever Yohan Ramirez from the New York Mets for cash considerations Thursday.
No corresponding roster move was necessary, as Ramirez brought Baltimore's 40-man roster to 40 players.
Ramirez, 28, is joining his sixth club since breaking into the majors in 2020 with the Seattle Mariners. In 105 appearances and 129 innings out of the bullpen for Seattle (2020-22), Cleveland (2022), Pittsburgh (2022-23), the Chicago White Sox (2023) and the Mets (2024), Ramirez has a 4.31 ERA, 6-5 record and 6 saves in 9 opportunities.
Ramirez started his first season with the Mets by allowing seven earned runs in 5 innings over three games for an 11.81 ERA. He is 0-1 and blew one save.
