Exactly two years from today, the first ball will be hit at the historic centenary ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals 2026 in London!

From May 1st to May 10th, 2026, the illustrious OVO Arena at Wembley will play host to the worlds top table tennis athletes, captivating thousands of spectators. This event marks a triumphant return to the birthplace city of ITTF and the World Championships, exactly a century later.

Londons call to bring back the championships to its historic heart resonates deeply, having last hosted the event in 1954. The confirmation of the dates marks a significant milestone as preparations to host an incredible event ramp up.

What has happened so far?

England was awarded the flagship event at the ITTF Annual General Meeting last August, following a compelling bid presentation.

The establishment of the Event Delivery Board for the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals 2026 is underway, with Ed Warner recently appointed as Chair.

The London Organising Group has been created to support the 2026 legacy programme and community impact across the capital. Additionally, the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals 2026 will receive support from UK Sport and the Greater London Authority.

What are the next steps?

Looking ahead, with the finalization of the Event Delivery Board imminent, collaborative efforts among all partners and stakeholders will commence in earnest.

With a visionary goal to create an enduring legacy that transcends the event itself, London aims to ignite a passion for table tennis and inspire future generations. The ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals 2026 and the ITTF centenary celebrations will leave a lasting legacy, nurturing a new wave of players, officials, volunteers, and fans nationwide.
