Scotland lock Gray joins Bordeaux after Exeter exit
Written by I Dig SportsScotland lock Jonny Gray has joined Bordeaux following his exit from Exeter Chiefs.
The 30-year-old agreed to leave the English Premiership club in April and has not played in 15 months since damaging his knee cap in the 2023 Champions Cup semi-final loss to La Rochelle.
Capped 77 times, Gray spent eight years at Glasgow Warriors before his move to Exeter in 2020.
Having won the Pro12 final with Glasgow in 2015, he added a Champions Cup and Premiership double in his first full season at the Chiefs.
Bordeaux finished third in the Top 14 table last season before losing heavily in the final to Toulouse.
Three second rows have departed, including the retiring Jandre Marais and fellow 35-year-old Kane Douglas, who is moving to La Rochelle.
