The Seattle Mariners are acquiring veteran Justin Turner from the Toronto Blue Jays, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan on Monday.

The Blue Jays will receive minor league outfielder R.J. Schreck in return, sources told ESPN.

Turner was replaced by Addison Barger after getting a hit in his only at-bat in the first inning of Monday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. He is hitting .257 with 6 home runs and 31 RBIs this season.

The 39-year-old Turner, a two-time All-Star, signed with Toronto prior to this season for $13 million. He batted .276 with 23 home runs and a career-high 96 RBIs with the Boston Red Sox in 2023 after spending his previous nine seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

A World Series champion with the Dodgers in 2020, Turner is a career .286 hitter with 193 homers and 790 RBIs in 1,628 games. He has also played for the Baltimore Orioles (2009-10) and New York Mets (2010-13).

Schreck is hitting .250 in 86 games this season between the Class-A and Double-A levels.
