World number one Sun Yingsha has progressed to the Round of 16 after a dominant 4-0 victory over Luxembourgs 61-year-old Ni Xia Lian. The veteran player, competing in her sixth Olympic Games, bowed out gracefully, earning the admiration of fans for her sportsmanship and determination. Despite the defeat, Ni Xia Lians participation has captured the hearts of many, inspiring athletes and fans alike.


Dark0 Jorgic and Shin Yubin Advance to Round of 16

Slovenias Darko Jorgic has secured his place in the Round of 16 with a victory over Team GBs Liam Pitchford. Jorgic will now face a tough test against TPEs Lin Yun-Ju.

In other action, Korea Republics Shin Yubin advanced to the Round of 16 with a 4-1 win over Hungarys Georgina Pota. She will face USAs Lily Zhang in the next round.


Stunning Upset: Moregard Stuns World Number One

In a major upset that has sent shockwaves through the tournament, Swedens Truls Moregard has defeated World Number One Wang Chuqin. Moregard produced a sensational performance to overcome the new Mixed Doubles champion, winning 12-10, 11-7, 5-11, 7-11, 11-9, 11-6. The Swede will now face Kao Cheng-Jui in the last 16.

Speaking after his defeat, Wang Chuqin said, My opponent had some changes in his serves and I didnt respond to them well enough. I definitely felt very down coming off the court. I had such a high yesterday from winning the mixed doubles gold. To go from that to this low, I guess this is what competitive sport is about. Its all on me, I didnt have the ability to win today. I wasnt enough, Ive got to go back to reflect.
