Son bags brace in Spurs preseason win in Seoul
Written by I Dig SportsTottenham continued their preparations for the new season with a 4-3 win over K-League XI -- a team comprising of the best players in the South Korean league -- in Seoul on Wednesday.
The game, which took place at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, was Spurs' second in their preseason tour of Asia following their win over Vissel Kobe in Japan last Saturday.
Ange Postecoglou's side raced into a 3-0 lead by half-time, courtesy of a brace from local hero Son Heung-Min and a strike from Dejan Kulusevski.
The South Korean side pulled two goals back 10 minutes into the second half before academy striker Will Lankshear restored Spurs' two-goal advantage in the 67th minute. Oberdan's goal in the 81st minute setup a dramatic finish to the game but Spurs ultimately prevailed to maintain their unbeaten preseason record.
The North London side begin the new Premier League season away to Leicester City on Aug. 19, but prior to that they face Bayern Munich twice -- first in Seoul on Aug. 3 and then at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Aug. 10.
Harry Kane, who joined Bayern from Spurs last summer, won't be involved for the clash in Seoul but will return to his former stomping ground a week later.
