Written by I Dig SportsIn 2008, Najlah Imads life was irrevocably changed when a bomb explosion destroyed her fathers car in Baquba, Iraq. She was just three years old. The blast took much of her right leg, left leg at the knee, and her right forearm. Her future seemed uncertain, but her indomitable spirit refused to be extinguished.
At the age of 10, despite her familys concerns, Najlah discovered a passion for table tennis. This decision marked the beginning of an extraordinary journey. Table tennis was a turning point for me. It changed my life. Her determination to succeed propelled her from local competitions in Iraq to the international stage.
Despite her familys initial resistance, Najlahs determination saw her through.
