New programme Scrum V: The Warm Up launches for rugby fans
Written by I Dig SportsRugby fans will have a new programme to enjoy as they get ready for the kick-off of the United Rugby Championship (URC) 2024-25 season.
Scrum V: The Warm Up will begin on BBC Two Wales, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds next Thursday, 19 September and will run during each week of the URC campaign.
Lauren Jenkins will present the show and will be joined by familiar and new faces from the game to discuss all the talking points in Welsh rugby.
We're never short of things to talk about in Welsh rugby and I can't wait to be bringing you exclusive interviews and expert opinions along with plenty of laughs every week," she said.
In this first show, Jenkins welcomes former Wales, British and Irish Lions and Scarlets great Jonathan Davies and his ex-Wales and Lions team-mate Alex Cuthbert for some reminiscing, lively debate and a look ahead to the season.
Former Ospreys wing Cuthbert said: A new programme all about rugby and an opportunity to catch up with old friends and team-mates - whats not to love?
"Jon and I are old friends, so as well as talking about the new season, the conversation will probably take some unexpected turns.
Davies, one of the finest centres of his generation who left Scarlets at the end of last season, said: This is the first time for many, many years that I havent been training pre-season with a club. Im looking forward to taking a back seat for now - its the perfect way to still be involved in the game and I cant wait.
Scrum V: The Warm Up will be available as a podcast on BBC Sounds and broadcast on iPlayer and BBC Two Wales at 23:05 BST.
The new programme adds to BBC Cymru Wales' rugby output, which includes the full televised match coverage offered by Scrum V Live, Scrum V Highlights on Monday nights, the Scrum V Pod, plus regular match commentaries available on Radio Wales, Radio Cymru and BBC Sounds.
