Hollwood actor Will Ferrell attended Leeds United's Championship fixture against Burnley on Saturday.

The Anchorman star became a minority shareholder in Leeds earlier this year. The club, who play in the second tier of English football, are run by the owners of the NFL's San Francisco 49ers.

The ownership group first invested in Leeds in 2018 and increased its share to 44% in late 2021, then reached an agreement in 2023 to take over Leeds with NBA superstar Russell Westbrook and golfers Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas also purchasing minority stakes in the club.

Ferrell is also a co-owner of MLS side LAFC.

The 57-year-old is one of several American celebrities who have invested in English football over the past few years in the wake of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's success at Wrexham.

Legendary former NFL quarterback Tom Brady is a minority owner of Birmingham City.

On Friday, Wrexham drafted in two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning as a fan ahead of the team's League One clash against Brady's Birmingham.
