Written by I Dig Sports
Former British number one Heather Watson beat Jia-Jing Lu in the opening round of the Korea Open.
Watson, who came through two rounds of qualifying, won 6-4 6-4 against China's Lu.
The 32-year-old broke Lu to take the opening set and a further break in the second set sealed a comfortable victory in Seoul.
It is only the third time Watson, 183rd in the world, has won a main draw match this season.
Watson will face either Ukrainian fifth seed Marta Kostyuk or Arantxa Rus of the Netherlands in round two.
