Lydiate set for player-coach role at Dragons
Written by I Dig SportsWales flanker Dan Lydiate has agreed a new player-coach contract at Dragons.
Lydiate, who turns 37 this season, will continue to play and has been named among the replacements for their season opener against former club Ospreys on Saturday in Newport.
But BBC Sport has learned the deal will also include the British and Irish Lion taking a formal role among Dai Flanagan's coaching team.
Flanagan previously said in May: Dan is a player I dont want to leave this region for his playing experience and what he can bring off the field going forward.
Coaching is something Dan is curious to see what it would be like. Ive told him how good a coach he would be."
