The 2024 Canadian Womens Open will offer the largest purse in Canadian history after upgrading to a silver level event.

The Oct 27-31 event will offer US$ 75,000 prize money when it returns to Torontos Brookfield Place.

The Womens draw is headlined by Belgian stars Nele Coll and Tinne Gilis, defending champion Amanda Sobhy and Canadian No.1 Hollie Naughton.

The tournament will also mark the official Canadian launch of the sports road to the LA 2028 Olympic Games. Squash Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee will unveil a roadmap for Canadas return as a world leader in the sport.

As squash gears up to take its rightful place on the Olympic stage, the Canadian Womens Squash Open stands as a watershed event for the sport in Canada and for womens professional and amateur athletics, said Stephanie Edmison, Tournament Co-Chair and Pan-Am Gold Medallist.

This prestigious tournament attracts the worlds elite female competitors as we celebrate and highlight the incredible athleticism and speed of the game.

The Cambridge Group of Clubs Toronto Open (US$25,000), a copper level championship in the PSA Tour, is also taking place during the open, giving emerging and leading men another important opportunity to compete in a world-class environment on home soil.

Jamie Nicholls, CEO of Squash Canada, said: Its an incredibly exciting time for our sport and our athletes as we begin our journey on the Road to the LA2028 Olympics.

Squash Canada will donate 25 per cent of ticket sales for the opening day to support Urban Squash Torontos vital youth programming and 25 per cent of sales the following day to Squash Ontarios Lee Hanebury Junior Squash Fund.
