The ITTFs Olympic Solidarity Development of National Sports Systems (DNSS) continues to demonstrate their transformative impact, with recent activities spanning Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. These programmes showcase ITTFs commitment to developing national sports systems through tailored coaching education and training camps.

In Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, a dual-phase programme combining an ITTF-PTT Level 1 coaching course and training camp took place from 9-18 September 2024. Led by Kazakhstan National Coach Yevgeniy Timchenko, the initiative brought together 10 coaches and 13 players for an intensive development period. The first five days focused on fundamental skills and beginner-level instruction, with coaches engaging in productive group discussions and knowledge sharing. The Kyrgyzstan Table Tennis Associations commitment to growth was evident in their recent decision to construct a permanent table tennis facility, marking a significant step forward for the sports development in the country.

In Saudi Arabia, the collaboration between the Saudi Table Tennis Federation and the Saudi National Olympic Committee resulted in a comprehensive technical course from 26 October to 5 November 2024. ITTF Senior Participation Officer Ramzi B.H Mabrouk conducted both ITTF-PTT Level 1 and ITTF Level 2 Coach Education sessions, attracting 50 participants including coaches from India, Egypt, and Syria. The advanced segment saw 11 participants successfully completing the Level 2 certification.

The development momentum continued in Timor-Leste, where a historic ITTF-PTT Level 1 coaching course was conducted by Xiao Jun Fan from 8-12 October 2024. The programme drew 23 participants from across the country, including nine women and five para-national players, demonstrating the inclusive nature of these initiatives. Notable participants included Pascoela dos Santos and Abelita Borges Fernandes, who previously secured victory in Class 6/7 team and doubles events at the 2022 ASEAN Para Games.

In Cambodias capital Phnom Penh, instructor Trevor led an ITTF-PTT Level 1 Coach Education course from 2-6 December, engaging 25 participants in preparation for the 2029 Asian Youth Games. The programme emphasised practical application, with participants conducting training sessions for 35 young athletes.

Cyprus also benefited from the Olympic Solidarity programme, with the Cyprus Table Tennis Association hosting a Technical Course for Coaches from 20-29 September. Led by ITTF expert Pacinthe Osman, Egypts national junior girls coach, the course welcomed 18 participants and contributed to the sports post-pandemic resurgence in the country.

These diverse initiatives underscore the ITTFs global commitment to developing table tennis through sustainable, locally-adapted programmes. By empowering coaches and strengthening national sports systems, these Olympic Solidarity activities continue to build bridges and foster excellence in table tennis worldwide.
