Atwell Breaks Record In Rattler 250 Score
Written by I Dig Sports
KINSTON, Ala. The 49th Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway saw a historic performance from Michael Atwell.
After starting from the pole position, Atwell dominated from start to finish as he broke Ty Majeskis record for most laps led in the historic race all 250 circuits.
Majeski led 242 of the 250 laps in 2016.
Even with a late-race caution with 17 laps to go, Atwell remained unchallenged as he topped Colin Allman, Stephen Nasse, Dustin Smith and Dylan Bigley.
After being two laps down at one point, Kendrick Kreyer rebounded to finish sixth.
Three-time and defending Rattler 250 winner Bubba Pollard was unable to make it four straight as his race ended due to a loss of power prior to the halfway mark.
