BELLEVILLE, Ill. – The POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint Car League has released a massive schedule that features 46 race dates in seven states.
The season will kick off in style on Saturday, March 7 at Springfield (Mo.) Raceway and wrap up in Sapulpa, Okla., at Creek County Speedway for the Fall Fling/Season Championship on Oct. 16-17.
Staple events on the schedule include a visit to Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway on July 10-11 alongside the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series for the Corn Belt Classic; Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, for the Ultimate Challenge on Aug. 11; and the ninth annual Hockett/McMillin Memorial at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., on Sept. 17-19.
Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Mo., will host the most POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint Car League appearances with nine dates scheduled. Of those, the most notable is night one of the Missouri Open Wheel Showdown Weekend on May 1, King of Kansas City on July 18 and the Weld Family Memorial on Sept. 12.
WAR will embark on new territory with first time appearances at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., on April 17-18; Central Missouri Speedway in Warrensburg, Mo., on May 23, Aug. 22 and Sept. 5; and Adams County Speedway in Corning, Iowa, on June 20.
Tracks returning to the schedule include Humboldt (Kan.) Speedway; Salina High Banks in Pryor, Okla.; Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind.; and Missouri State Fair Speedway on Aug. 23.
Select events on the schedule will be co-sanctioned by the POWRi Iowa Sprint League, which was announced on Thursday as the newest POWRi-sanctioned series.
