BURIRAM, Thailand – Due to the global outbreak of the coronavirus, FIM, IRTA and Dorna have made the decision to postpone the Thailand Grand Prix that was scheduled for March 22.
Government officials informed event organizers that it wouldn’t be possible to hold the event on its scheduled race date at the Chang Int’l Circuit as a result of the outbreak.
Thus, the race on April 5 at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, will serve as the season opener for the stars of the MotoGP circuit.
This is the second MotoGP event either postponed or cancelled because of the coronavirus. The MotoGP portion of the Qatar Grand Prix was also recently cancelled.
