MONROE, Wash. – NASCAR Cup Series driver Ty Dillon has filed an entry to compete in the annual Summer Showdown late model race at Washington’s Evergreen Speedway.
The ninth edition of the Summer Showdown, scheduled for July 24-25, offers a $25,000 payout to the winner.
Dillon is no stranger to asphalt late model racing, having competed in the now defunct UARA-STARS Late Model Series before beginning his ascent to the NASCAR Cup Series.
The grandson of NASCAR Hall of Famer and Richard Childress Racing team owner Richard Childress captured the ARCA Menards Series title in 2011 and has scored wins in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series.
He is currently in the midst of his fourth full-time season in the NASCAR Cup Series driving for Germain Racing. He has a best finish of fourth during his NASCAR Cup Series career.
