HARTLAND, Conn. – Wade Cole, who has competed in at least one race during all but one NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season, has died according to multiple media reports.

He was 67 years old.

Born March 9, 1953, Cole had been one of the most consistent faces in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour pits since the series launched in 1985.

Through the years he made 371 starts and has competed full-time with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour during 11 seasons, racing part-time with the tour during 24 seasons. He entered every NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race last year.

While he never broke into victory lane during his lengthy run with the tour, Cole earned seven top-10 finishes during his career. He earned a career-best finish of eighth on two occasions, once at Thompson (Conn.) Speedway Motorsports Park in 1993 and again Spencer Speedway in Williamson, N.Y. in 2008.
