New Ownership For Electric City Speedway

GREAT FALLS, Montana — Electric City Speedway will begin the new season under new and ownership and management.

LNB Speedway has purchased the track from Dan and Barb Mann, who owned and operated the three-eighths-mile dirt track for more than 30 years.

“We are so happy to have LNB Speedway take over the love of our life,” the Manns said in a statement. “It is time for us to live the dream and see a new generation enjoy the speed. We know the old speedway is in good hands and has a bright and exciting future.”

Debby Wiggers takes over as manager of Electric City Speedway.

“We are very grateful to Dan and Barb for working so hard the past three decades to keep racing alive and allowing us to continue the tradition in Great Falls,” Wiggers said.
With COVID-19 pandemic impacting every aspect of our lives, Electric City Speedway officials are working to provide race fans and drivers the opportunity to enjoy dirt-track racing in Great Falls this summer.

“We’re committed to working with state, county and city officials to provide safe and responsible access to stock car racing as soon as they determine it is safe for us do so,” said Wiggers.
While no one knows the timetable for reopening our state, Electric City Speedway is working on making racing available to fans, even if spectators are not allowed.

“We’re developing a plan now that, through social-distancing, will allow us to keep drivers and crews safe in the pits and on the track,” said track co-manager Russ Ehnes. “We’ll allow spectators at the track as soon as we can, which should be when we reach phase three of the governor’s reopening plan. If we can’t have spectators right away, we’re working on live pay-per-view so families can still enjoy the racing.”

Electric City Speedway is working with SPEEDSPORT.tv to make the races available through their pay-per-view platform. Fans will be able to watch racing on any internet connected computer, device, or any Roku connected television. After restrictions are lifted, Electric City Speedway will continue to offer pay-per-view and subscription viewing options for those who can’t make it to the track.

During phase three of the reopening, it is possible spectator numbers could be limited. In this event, Electric City Speedway will pre-sell all tickets through myracepass.com.

Meanwhile, the new track owners are working on upgrades to the existing facility including, new lighting, renovations to the spectator area, improvements to some of the barriers and relocating the track exit.

“Our goals are to start racing earlier, finish on-time, offer a clean and family-friendly environment, plus offer high-quality, affordable concessions to make racing fun and affordable for families and fans,” said Electric City Speedway promoter Steve Fowler. “Great Falls has a long motorsports history and we’re proud to have the opportunity to continue and build on the tradition.”
