BELLEVILLE, Ill. – POWRi and Airport Raceway officials are moving forward as scheduled with the fifth annual Midget Round-Up presented by Burtis Motors & RapidCost on May 23-24.
Located just ten miles east of Garden City, Kan., Airport Raceway offers drivers a one-of-a-kind wheeling experience with mid-level banking on what’s billed as “the fastest sixth mile-dirt oval in Kansas”.
Normally run as a mid-season staple, this year’s running of the Midget Round-Up will kick off the year-long quest for the crown of the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget League.
Last season witnessed Andrew Felker capitalize on the two-day POWRi West Midget League points event by winning night one and placing on the podium in night two.
Using skill, momentum, and points earned from five feature wins, Felker ended the season with the championship banner in the POWRi West.
Not to be outdone with amazing and daring driving features, night two of the Airport Raceway Midget Round-Up saw Chance Morton earn the victory.
Driving from sixth on the grid, Morton outran the field to the line, notching his lone 2019 POWRi West Midget League feature victory.
Which driver will try to dethrone Morton as all roads lead to the Sunflower State for Midget supremacy in mid-May?
Heading into the 2020 POWRi West Midget League season with a clean slate of points, every driver is eager to make their case for their own season-making moment.
With top competitors from all over anxiously awaiting a venue to open the gates for races, the Midget Round-Up is taking shape and projects to be a can’t-miss show that sends the POWRi West Midget League into a summer of speed and close competition.
The fifth annual Midget Round-Up presented by Burtis Motors & RapidCost at Airport Speedway will fill a weekend of fun-filled racing on May 23-24 with two complete shows.
