DAVENPORT, Iowa – It did not take long for Davenport Speedway promoters Ricky and Brenda Kay to hit the send button on emails and social media.
The track is opening on Friday, May 15.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced earlier today that guidelines will be eased for the remaining 22 counties, allowing race tracks to open with no fans and limits in the pit area.
K Promotions, the Mississippi Valley Fair and City of Davenport jumped on the opportunity to open the gates for the 2020 season.
The only way to view the races is to watch on doneright.tv, an affiliate of the SPEED SPORT Network. The link will be up Wednesday evening evening or early Thursday. The broadcast will begin around 6 p.m. Friday.
Action will take place on the wide, racy quarter-mile dirt oval in all the regular IMCA classes – Late Models, Modifieds and Sport Mods, along with Street Stocks and Sport Compacts.
