ADAIRSVILLE, Ga. – The Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series will open its National Tour with a pair of $2,500-to-win, 50-lap races on May 23-24 at Cochran (Ga.) Motor Speedway.
Current COVID 19 protocol will require special limitations for the races.
The races are set to be run with no spectators and each race team will be limited to a driver and up to ten crew members. Social distancing will be required where applicable, and the wearing of face coverings and/or masks is optional. If you are sick, have been sick, or have been exposed to someone that is sick, we ask that you stay home and catch all of the action that will be broadcast live via pay per view.
Race teams are required to pre-register for the races by filling out a Registration Form available on the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA web site by clicking here. The deadline to register is 12 Noon on Friday, May 22.

“This is a little different from what we have done for the past 15 years, but today with the coronavirus pandemic, we’re living in different times,” Stewart said. “We appreciate it that Cochran Motor Speedway owners Chris and Joni Martin are working with us to open the 2020 Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series season, and we want to help them follow the COVID 19 protocols put in place by State and Local Government officials.” With the fluidity of the situation and everchanging guidelines, everyone is encouraged to stay tuned to the social media accounts and official websites leading up to the Memorial Day Weekend events.
Gates will open on both Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. (EST) with the diver’s meeting at 6 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m. Further details regarding special entry times, and driver’s meeting procedures are still being worked out and will be released this week leading up to the events.
