JACKSON, Minn. – A rainstorm that invaded Jackson Motorplex squelched Saturday’s planned finale to the Great Lakes Shootout presented by Tweeter Contracting and Harvey’s Five Star Roofing.
The event, scheduled to pay $7,000 to the main event winner, was set to play host to another loaded field, including Friday night victor Brad Sweet, 10-time World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz, past NASCAR stars Kasey Kahne and Kyle Larson and many more.
Unfortunately, showers forced the cancellation of the program around 4:30 p.m. CT. The race will not be rescheduled.
Sweet won Friday’s event over Sheldon Haudenschild, with Schatz, Kahne and Ian Madsen filling out the top five.
The next major 410 sprint car event on the calendar is a two-day World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series weekend at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., on May 22-23.
