INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — Skylar Rhoades and Bryant Wiedeman both posted their first career Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division feature victory and Jade Avedisian recorded her third career on Friday when the series made its debut at KC Raceway.
Rhoades bested a field of 40-plus drivers to garner the Stock Non-Wing triumph, kicking off two straight nights of action at the bullring and three in the state of Missouri. Jace Park earned a runner-up result with Chase Porter finishing third, Chris Koch fourth and Nathan Brookshier fifth.
Wiedeman maneuvered from fifth to claim the Winged ‘A’ Class main event and defeat 38 other competitors who entered the night trying to become the first series winner at the oval. Doney placed second with Park ending third, Hulsey fourth and Seth Pugh fifth.
Avedisian outlasted 26 others to reach the Restricted ‘A’ Class Victory Lane for the third time of the season en route to taking the lead in the championship standings. Ethan Ayars, Kayden Cole, Justis Sokol and Gunnar Setser rounded out the top five, respectively.
