Most of Europe's major leagues are now on course to be completed after being paused for the coronavirus pandemic.

Only Ligue 1, which curtailed its season on April 30 after the French government banned games behind closed doors, does not plan to finish the campaign of the top five leagues.

UEFA requested that all European leagues attempt to finish their campaigns no later than Aug. 2, enabling the Champions League and Europa League to play out through the rest of the month. Barring any setback, the 2020-21 season is on course to be completed by Aug. 29.

PREMIER LEAGUE

When will the league restart? It's back on Wednesday, June 17 with Manchester City vs. Arsenal and Aston Villa vs. Sheffield United -- two matches required to place all teams onto 29 games.

How many games are remaining? 92

How is the title race looking? Liverpool are 25 points clear and could seal their first title for 30 years in the first week of the restart.

When will the league finish? Expected to be the weekend of July 25/26, but yet to be made official.

Have all the fixtures been confirmed? Only the first two fixtures.

Where will matches be played? The vast majority of games are expected to be played behind closed doors at home grounds, though there are a few high-risk games (such as Everton vs. Liverpool) which may require neutral venues.

What about the FA Cup? This is at the quarterfinal stage, with games to be played on the weekend of June 27-28. The semifinals will be July 18-19 with the final on Saturday, Aug. 1.

When will next season begin? The weekend of Sept. 12 is reported to be pencilled in.

LA LIGA

When will the league restart? La Liga president Javier Tebas has indicated it should restart on Thursday, June 11 with Real Betis vs. Sevilla FC.

How many games are remaining? 110

How is the title race looking? Barcelona hold a two-point lead over Real Madrid with 11 rounds to go.

When will the league finish? Expected to be the weekend of July 19-20, leaving two weeks free in case of any complications.

Have all the fixtures been confirmed? Not yet but this is expected shortly.

Where will matches be played? Most clubs are expected to play behind closed doors at their home grounds, though Real Madrid will play at the 6,000-seater Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, home to their "B" team, as the Bernabeu is being renovated. Levante have also made a request to play their six games at the Estadio Olimpico Camilo Cano in La Nucia.

What about the Copa del Rey? This was due to be a Basque derby between Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao. Both clubs have said they do not want to play the game without fans so it will be delayed until an appropriate time, meaning the Europa League place will transfer to La Liga.

When will next season begin? Tebas says it will be Sept. 12 if completing the season goes to plan.

SERIE A

When will the league restart? The weekend of June 20 has been provisionally set by the Italian FA.

How many games are remaining? 124

How is the title race looking? Juventus are one point in front of Lazio, with Internazionale a further eight points back but with a game in hand.

When will the league finish? Playing each weekend and midweek, the season can be completed by the weekend of Aug. 1.

Have all the fixtures been confirmed? Not yet but it is expected the follow the same order from when the season was suspended.

Where will the matches be played? All games are expected to be played in home venues, behind closed doors.

What about the Coppa Italia? The Italian FA wants to play the semifinals -- Napoli vs. Internazionale and Juventus vs. AC Milan -- on the weekend of June 13 with the final on June 17, before Serie A resumes. However, there has been opposition from the clubs to going into such crucial matches without any competitive football.

When will next season begin? It has already been announced that the new season will start on Sept. 1 for contracts, with Serie A expected to begin on Sept. 12.

BUNDESLIGA

When did the league restart? It was the first league to get back to action on Saturday, May 15.

How many games are remaining? 54

How is the title race looking? Bayern Munich are seven points ahead of Borussia Dortmund with only 18 still available.

When will the league finish? Saturday, June 27, with the promotion/relegation playoff to be played in July.

Have all the fixtures been confirmed? Yes, and can be viewed here.

Where are the matches being played? All games are behind closed doors at each club's home ground.

What about the DFB Pokal? The semifinals, Bayern Munich vs. Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Saarbrucken vs. Bayer Leverkusen, will be played on June 9 or 10. The final is then scheduled for Saturday, July 4.

When will next season begin? Even though the Bundesliga will finish way before the other leagues, Sept. 12 is still reported to be the target date due to August's Champions League and Europa League fixtures.

LIGUE 1

When was the league curtailed? On Thursday, April 30 it was announced the Ligue 1 season would be ended with the table decided on a points-per-game basis.

Who were named champions? Paris Saint-Germain won the title for the seventh time in the last eight seasons.

Who has qualified for Europe? Marseille join PSG in the Champions League group stage, with Stade Rennes in the third qualifying round. Lille have booked a place in the Europa League group stage.

What about the cup competitions? The French FA still hopes to play the finals of the Coupe de France (PSG vs. Saint-Etienne) and the Coupe de la Ligue (PSG vs. Lyon) in August, which will decide the final two places in the Europa League. Should PSG win one or both of these games, the European place would transfer to the league with Nice and Stade de Reims next in line.

When will next season begin? The weekend of Aug. 22 has been provisional set, but as Lyon and PSG are still in the Champions League it remains to be seen if this will actually happen or if Ligue 1 falls into line with the rest of Europe and begins on Sept. 12.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE & EUROPA LEAGUE

When will the competition restart? UEFA has not officially committed to any dates while leagues attempt to find a way to finish their seasons. But with domestic competitions on course to be completed by August it is now expected that the Europa League and the Champions League can restart in the first week of the month. UEFA next meets on June 17 to decide on the dates and the format.

What's the latest with the Champions League? Four round-of-16 ties still have to be completed. Real Madrid vs. Manchester City (1-2), Chelsea vs. Bayern Munich (0-4), Lyon vs. Juventus (1-0) and Napoli vs. Barcelona (1-1).

What's the latest with the Europa League? None of the round-of-16 fixtures have yet been completed, while two fixtures (Internazionale vs. Getafe and Sevilla FC vs. AS Roma) still have first legs to play.

When will the finals be? Provisionally Aug. 26 for the Europa League, with Aug. 29 for the Champions League.

Will the format stay the same? It will depend on how much time is available, as well as any government restrictions or requirements relating to quarantine. The quarterfinals could be played as one-off ties, with a "final four" held in one country. At present, there is no suggestion that finals would be moved away from Gdansk, Poland (Europa League) and Istanbul, Turkey (Champions League).

When will next season begin? A simplified qualifying tournament is expected to begin in September, with the group stages of both competitions starting Oct. 20-22.
