Jofra Archer's arrival in England camp delayed after a member of his household feels unwell

Jofra Archer's arrival with the England squad has been delayed after a member of his household felt unwell over the weekend.

Although Archer and members of his household have tested negative for COVID-19, he will have a second test on Wednesday. Only if that test is also negative will he join up with the rest of the training group on Thursday.

The rest of the group and the England management team arrived at the Ageas Bowl on Tuesday to start their preparation ahead of the Test series against West Indies. The first Test starts on July 8.

Archer had previously used his Daily Mail column to confirm his full recovery from the elbow injury which limited his involvement in the South Africa tour and ruled him out of a spot in the squad which went to Sri Lanka.

"I was sent for a scan to check the stress fracture had healed," Archer wrote. "It was pretty much a box-ticking exercise as I have not experienced any pain and the pictures confirmed all is good.

"Despite the fact that the three matches of this series are played in such a short space of time, I actually think I could play all three - but obviously everyone will be a bit cautious in terms of workload, thinking about the body and what lies ahead."

No player from either squad - West Indies or England - or their support staff have so far tested positive for the virus.
