BELLEVILLE, Ill. – The POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget League travels to Garden City, Kan., July 3-4 for the fifth annual TBJ Promotions Midget Roundup, co-sanctioned by the Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Ass’n.
Taking on one of the fastest sixth-mile dirt ovals in Kansas, the action-packed weekend pits two of Middle America’s premier midget series against one another in a battle for supremacy.
The POWRi West Midget League points battle has continued to heat up between Jake Neuman and defending series champion Andrew Felker.
Felker took the top position in last weekend’s race, which pushed Neuman back to second in points. Felker has a chance to capitalize and repeat as champion this year.
Neuman sits 160 points behind, while Trey Marcham took over the third position in points.
Alongside the RMMRA and POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget League, the NOW600 Desert Region and NOW600 Mile High Region will be in attendance with Winged ‘A’ Class and Restricted ‘A’ Class micro sprints during both nights.
Pit gates open at 1 p.m. July 3 for the Midget Roundup, with grandstand gates following at 4 p.m. and the drivers meeting taking place at 6:30 p.m.
Airport Raceway tickets are $15 for adults on Friday, July 3, and $20 on Saturday, July 4. Children age 12 and younger get in free both nights.
For those who can’t make it out to the track and don’t want to miss any of the action, SPEED SPORT Network affiliate POWRi TV will stream both days live. Subscriptions or stand-alone bundles are available for puchase.
