FRANKLIN, Pa. – Brandon Spithaler became the first repeat winner this season in the Shawgo Real Estate Sprint Car division at Tri-City Raceway Park on Sunday evening.

Darrin Gallagher led the first to the green flag alongside fellow front row starter Spithaler. Gallagher led the first eight laps of the contest before Spithaler took over the lead as they worked through lap traffic.

While Spithaler pulled away from the field, Jack Sodeman Jr. drove by Gallagher for second on lap 11. Don Kuriger was also on the move, marching from seventh to take third from Gallagher on lap 13.

Late in the race a trio of caution flags erased Spithaler’s comfortable lead, giving Sodeman a shot to steal the victory. During each restart Spithaler drove away with ease, including during the final restart when Spithaler’s brakes began to fail.

Despite the trouble with his brakes, Spithaler managed to comfortably take the victory over Sodeman. Kuriger was third, followed by Carl Bowser and Michael Bauer.

Tom Holden collected his second victory of the season in the 358 modified division, Josh Seippel was the winner in pro stock competition, Dillon Speer topped the mini stock class again and Garrett Davenport won the junior sprint feature.

The finish:

Brandon Spithaler, Jack Sodeman Jr., Dan Kuriger, Carl Bowser, Michael Bauer, Darrin Gallagher, Brandon Matus, Cody Bova, Brent Matus, Davey Jones, Rick Holley, Bob McMillin, Nevan O’Donnell, Alan Feree, Jeremy Kornbau, Jeremy Hill, A.J. Flick, Gary Kreiss, Jared McFarland, Shamus O’Donnell, Jacob Gamola, Layton Wagner, Robert Lime.
