SPARTA, Ky. – After a trip to the hospital following a crash in Thursday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Kentucky Speedway, Justin Allgaier has been cleared to race in Friday’s second event at the 1.5-mile oval.
Allgaier was treated and released from a local hospital early Friday morning for what JR Motorsports has called “non-racing related medical purposes.” After a medical evaluation on Friday, NASCAR cleared Allgaier to compete Friday evening.

Allgaier was involved in a multi-car accident on the final lap of Thursday’s Shady Rays 200 that also included the cars driven by Ronnie Bassett Jr. and Timmy Hill. Bassett and Hill were both checked and released from the infield care center following the incident.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series is back on track at Kentucky Speedway on Friday for the Alsco 300 at 8 p.m. EST.
