BECHTELSVILLE, Pa. – Due to the fast-approaching Tropical Storm Isaias and a forecast of high winds and heavy rain, Thunder on the Hill and USAC officials have canceled Tuesday’s NOS Energy USAC National Midget Series event at Grandview Speedway.
The weather outlook is dismal, with rain forecasted at 100 percent throughout the day and estimated rain totals of two to three inches.
The event will not be rescheduled for 2020.
“It’s an unfortunate turn of events for the 2020 racing season,” co-promoter Bob Miller said. “We were excited to offer up a great night of USAC midget racing, but with the current pandemic, minimizing the cost for race teams is important. We will prepare for this event in 2021.”
With the odds stacked against the chance of getting the Tuesday, Aug. 4 event in the books, the early cancellation will allow USAC race teams and spectators to remain safe at home, waiting for the storm to pass before heading east for the balance of the swing.
