Pacers' Warren sits out due to plantar fasciitis

Indiana Pacers forward T.J. Warren, one of the stars of the seeding schedule in the NBA's restart, sat out Wednesday's 108-104 win over the Houston Rockets because of plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

A source told ESPN that the plantar fasciitis is "not serious" and will not prevent Warren from being ready for the playoffs next week.

Pacers coach Nate McMillan said that Warren has "been experiencing that really throughout the season and been able to play on it." He was noncommittal on whether Warren would play Friday against the Heat, whom the Pacers will play in the first round of the playoffs.

"He had a little soreness there," McMillan said. "We wanted to give him some rest on that. I will get the medical report on our guys tomorrow, and Friday we'll make a decision on who is playing and how much they are playing."

Warren has averaged 31.0 points per game during the season restart at Walt Disney World Resort, tied for fourth in the league. He has shot 57.8% from the floor and 52.4% from 3-point range in the bubble, highlighted by a career-best 53-point performance in an Aug. 1 win over the Philadelphia 76ers and a 39-point outing in Saturday's win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Warren was held to 12 points on 5-of-14 shooting in Monday's loss to the Heat. Warren's matchup with Heat forward Jimmy Butler will be one of the primary storylines of the team's playoff series, in large part because of heated exchanges they had during and after Miami's Jan. 8 win over Indiana.

Pacers All-Star power forward Domantas Sabonis has not played in the season restart because of a more serious case of plantar fasciitis in his left foot, which led him to leave the NBA's bubble to receive treatment.
