Toronto Raptors coach Nick Nurse said Wednesday that a potential boycott of Thursday's Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals has been discussed jointly by his players and the Boston Celtics and is "on the table."
Nurse said the players are discussing other measures as well in response to the police shooting of Jacob Blake on Sunday in Wisconsin.
"Boycotting the game has come up to them to demand a little more attention," Nurse said.
Raptors and Celtics players met Tuesday night in the players' lounge at the Grand Destino Hotel about a possible boycott of their second-round series opener, and other potential measures, a source told Marc Spears of ESPN's The Undefeated.
The feeling after the meeting was that the majority of the Raptors and Celtics players wanted to play Game 1, a source told Spears. But the teams are expected to meet again Wednesday night and discuss options.
Sources from both teams told Spears that everything is on the table.
