VICTORIA, B.C. and BURLINGTON, Ontario  — REV TV Canada, Canada’s Own Motorsports Network, will offer SPEED SPORT TV customers live coverage of a Canadian motorsports classic on Sunday, Sept. 6.

The Shockwave Seats Canada 200 late model race from historic Western Speedway in the city of Langford will be available for pay-per-view on SPEED SPORT TV Sunday night at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET.

In addition, the popular documentary “Before I am Gone,” produced by M1 Films, featuring Shockwave Seats founder David Smith, will also be available for SPEED SPORT TV customers to view for a limited free-view starting today, Sept. 3^,at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT in lead up to the Canada 200.

The Canada 200 is one of Western Canada’s oldest and longest-running sporting events. It was first run in 1972. Western Speedway, a four-tenths-mile asphalt track, opened in 1954. Local heroes such as Bill Foster, the first Canadian to race the Indy 500, and American legends including Tom Sneva, Janet Guthrie and Bobby Allison have competed at the track.

This year’s Canada 200 will be run without spectators because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the partnership between REV TV and SPEED SPORT will allow viewers not only the opportunity to see the race, but to see Dave Smith’s life journey in “Before I am Gone.”

“We’re excited for the opportunity for so many people to experience Dave’s journey through this documentary,” said M1’s producer Mike Wavrecan “He’s overcome a lot to get here and it’s great to have it set against this year’s Canada 200.”
