ALGER, Wash. — Two champions will officially be crowned this Thursday at Skagit Speedway, which is hosting its first of two championship nights.

Thursday Night Thunder presented by the Rayce Rudeen Foundation will feature the season finale for the Cook Road Shell Sportsman Sprints and the Northwest Focus Midgets. Outlaw Tuners will also compete, but the season finale for that division is next week.

Without spectators being allowed into the grandstands because of COVID-19, Skagit Speedway is providing a live video stream from hot laps through the checkered flag of the final feature in the racing program.

The price for the Pay-Per-View broadcast is only $24.95, which is the cost of one adult and one junior ticket at the track. Fans will need to visit the website and create a profile to be able to view the race. Payment and viewing instructions will follow. Visit SPEED SPORT TV affiliate www.SkagitSpeedway.TV to watch the event.

Qualifying is scheduled to start at 6:45 p.m. (Pacific) with Opening Ceremonies at 7:30 p.m. and racing to follow.

The closest points battle at Skagit Speedway is in the Cook Road Shell Sportsman Sprints division as Kelsey Carpenter leads Eric Turner by only six points. Sean Johnson is 14 points behind Carpenter. Bill Rude is 21 points out of the top spot and Steve Parker trails Carpenter by 30 points.

Jared Peterson owns a 39-point lead in the Northwest Focus Midgets standings. Nick Evans ranks second with Shane Smith third – 64 points behind Peterson.

Rick Young has continued to add to his lead in the Outlaw Tuners standings. Young, who has a top five in all nine races this year, has built a 66-point lead over Zach Dalrympie. Howard Vos is 77 points behind Young.
