FAIRBURY, Ill. – Brandon Sheppard topped a wild shuffle at the front of the field to win Tuesday night’s One for the Road dirt late model feature at Fairbury American Legion Speedway.
Sheppard, the last of five leaders during the 50-lap event, passed Shannon Babb with 15 to go and led the rest of the way for a $15,000 payday in the familiar Rocket Chassis No. 1.
Josh Richards finished second, 1.616 seconds back, followed by Frank Heckenast Jr., Bobby Pierce and Babb.
Jeremiah Hurst, Taylor Scheffler, Myles Moos, Kyle Bronson and Brandon Overton filled out the top 10.
Kyle Strickler was the fast qualifier over the 44-car field with a lap of 12.143 seconds, while he, Babb, Richards and Overton all won their respective heat races.
Pierce and Ryan Unzicker topped the twin B-mains, with Pierce also ranking as the night’s hard charger after rolling from 17th to fourth in the main event.
