GRAY COURT, S.C. – After bouncing around between various race teams for the last few months, Chris Madden has announced he is relaunching his own Chris Madden Racing team.
The veteran dirt late model driver started the season driving for Scott Bloomquist Racing, but parted ways with that team in late June. He later picked up rides with Millwood Motorsports and Rum Runner Racing, picking up multiple victories while driving for the Millwood team.
In a statement posted to his official Facebook page, the 45-year-old Madden said is “very thankful” for the opportunities he has had this year, but has opted to go “back to his roots.” Madden has purchased a Rocket Chassis XR1 that he will drive in select events. He has not announced a schedule at this time.
Madden will make his first start as a driver/owner since 2017 when he joins the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C., tonight. Madden has more than 10 feature victories at Cherokee Speedway during his career.
The Gray Court, S.C., native also plans to join the World of Outlaws at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tenn., on Saturday night.
