Sunday's game between Minnesota United FC and Sporting Kansas City was canceled after Minnesota United reported a second confirmed positive case of COVID-19.
The game will not be rescheduled since Minnesota United already is set to face the Chicago Fire at home on Wednesday. That game was originally scheduled for Oct. 14 due to a separate suspected case of COVID-19 among the Minnesota United team.
Minnesota United had a positive COVID-19 test revealed Wednesday, before learning of a second Saturday.
A game between Los Angeles FC and the San Jose Earthquakes, also set for Sunday, was postponed possibly until the middle of next week because neither team has a game scheduled before Decision Day.
Minnesota United (8-5-6, 30 points) and Sporting KC (11-6-3, 36 points) had already clinched playoff spots. Because not all teams will finish with the same number of regular-season games played, MLS will determine playoff seeds based on average points earned per game.
