Free-agent pitcher Robbie Ray and the Toronto Blue Jays have reached agreement on a one-year contract worth $8 million, a source told ESPN's Jeff Passan.
Ray, 29, was in the midst of his sixth season with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2020 when they traded him to Toronto.
Ray was 1-4 with a 7.84 ERA in 11 starts overall this season. He went 1-1 with a 4.79 ERA in four starts with the Blue Jays.
For his career, Ray is 49-51 with a 4.26 ERA in seven seasons, six of which have been with Arizona.
