QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. – Officials from the Schaeffer’s Oil Wild Wing Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts have confirmed that Tony Stewart plans to attend the three-day 410 sprint car event.

The announcement was made via the official Wild Wing Shootout Twitter account Friday.

Stewart, who spent much of his schedule in 2020 racing with his Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions tour, joins a stacked early entry list for the Jan. 22-24 affair that includes the likes of Rico Abreu, Aaron Reutzel, Cory Eliason and Dominic Scelzi.

In 31 sprint car features between 360 and 410 competition this season, Stewart earned 10 top-five and 18 top-10 finishes. His best result was second, two times, earned most recently at Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway on Aug. 22.

The 49-year-old from Columbus, Ind., is a three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, the 1997 Indy Racing League (now NTT IndyCar Series) champion and has won championships in all three of USAC’s national divisions – the USAC Silver Crown Series, NOS Energy Drink USAC National Midget Series and AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series.

Stewart was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in January.
